Located at the southern tip of the San Francisco Bay, the city of Milpitas features well proportioned residential, commercial, industrial, and park areas. As a middle-class northern suburb of San Jose, Milpitas features many convenient attractions. This Santa Clara County town spans 14.5 square miles and is home to diverse population of over 65,000.
The homes in Milpitas can get pricey, but it is still fairly affordable in comparison to other areas in Santa Clara County. With such a diverse population, the different neighborhoods in Milpitas offer diverse housing options as well. Sunnyhills is a diverse community featuring mostly two-story homes for sale. Milford Village offers more affordable housing, while Summitpointe and Spring Valley Homes feature multi-million dollar golf course estates. Hillcrest sits somewhere in between with a mix of condos and single-family homes, and there are apartment complexes designed as low-income housing in the area as well.
Milpitas, California sits between freeways 880 and 680 and Route 237. It is sometimes referred to as the "Crossroads of Silicon Valley," home to numerous technology companies such as Cisco Systems, PalmOne and Adaptec. There are also many shopping centers with a variety of retail stores and restaurants across town. Milpitas is divided into three sections with the area west of I-880 mostly industrial and commercial, the region between I-880 and I-680 mixed with industrial in the south and residential to the north, and residential and scenic hills to the east of I-680.
